Dark Water

As close to death as I have seen within those eyes
As close to me as she can get and still despise
How can something that's so ugly be so beautiful
Come to me and freeze me in here, within it all
She's a flower girl, with diamonds for her eyes
And she's back again

She takes me down so I can drown within her darkest waters
Feels the sun burst in her head, and cries out loud
Stolen like a promise from her naive child-like breath
Blackened by her future pasts, and the thunder clouds
She's a flower girl with diamonds for her eyes
And she's back again

Let not a murmur pass her lips and lay her down
Let the angel be bewitched and damned to hell
Carve her name across your heart and leave an open wound
The time to heal has been and gone, and she can tell
She's a flower girl with diamonds for her eyes
And she's back again
