Glass Slipper

Well I’m working all the hours to make ends meet
And I’m aching from my head down to my feet
I’ve been calling favours in to lend a hand
But I’m noticing it’s all been built on sand
And there’s nothing I can do
To make it good enough for you

Seal all the rats in the basement
Spray all the roaches in the walls
Board up the windows and all the doors
Pull out the rotten timber
And scrub the kitchen clean
But there’s nothing I can do
To make it good enough for
Good enough for you

Well I’m four and twenty hours a day inside
With some prison guards to take me for a ride
I’ve got steel enough to take it through the night
But I can’t appreciate the ends in sight

And there’s nothing I can do
To make it good enough for you

Seal all the rats in the basement
Spray all the roaches in the walls
Board up the windows and all the doors
Pull out the rotten timber
And scrub the kitchen clean
But there’s nothing I can do
To make it good enough for
Good enough for you

Seal all the rats in the basement
Spray all the roaches in the walls
Board up the windows and all the doors
Pull out the rotten timber
And scrub the kitchen clean
But there’s nothing I can do
To make it good enough for
Good enough for you
