Hanging Man

Hanging man will come
Hanging man will come for me
Sitting on his porch
In his dirty dungarees
Carrying a torch
Warding off your strange disease

But I don’t mind
‘cause I’m bleeding on the inside
Whilst I’m fading on the outside
Before my time
And I’m inclined
To seek regeneration
‘cause I’m short on inspiration
This time round

Hanging man will come
Cheek by jowl we’ll take our leave
Climbing on his horse
Making out we’re Cherokees
Heading for the north
Burning sunset refugees

But I don’t mind
‘cause I’m bleeding on the inside
Whilst I’m fading on the outside
Before my time
And I’m inclined
To seek regeneration
‘cause I’m short on inspiration
This time round

But I don’t mind
‘cause I’m bleeding on the inside
Whilst I’m fading on the outside
Before my time
And I’m inclined
To seek regeneration
‘cause I’m short on inspiration
This time round
