Pictures Through a Window
Pictures through a window
Shattering the still and silent air
Pulls me through
Pulls me down
To the rocks below
In my mind’s eye
Lies a transparent barricade
Behind a vacant stare
Lies what we will never know
Don’t wish me love
Don’t wish me luck
You’ll make me cry again
You’ll never want to
See the sunrise
On the water here again
And I might try to face the truth
The future’s mine, I said
Nothing dies that isn’t reborn,
I said.
Pictures through a window
Shattering the still and silent air
Pulls me through
Pulls me down
To the rocks below
Small acts of rebellion
Can't make up for things that you let slide
Curse your indecision
Let the shame and anger grow
Don’t wish me love
Don’t wish me luck
You’ll make me cry again
You’ll never want to
See the sunrise
On the water here again
And I might try to face the truth
The future’s mine, I said
Nothing dies that isn’t reborn,
I said.
